After almost 5 years, I finally had my braces removed. This is what it looks like right now. I’m trying to find some before pictures but I’m not having any luck. Braces is definitely worth the wait and the trouble.

I’m back in Cagayan de Oro for the mean time. I just came back to have my teeth checked by my dentist because I think my orthodontist isn’t doing his job right. I did not really want to get my braces removed yet because I’m not satisfied with how my teeth looks and feels yet, but it seems like my orthodontist is so eager to get rid of me. I visited him once to have my clicking jaw checked and then I ended up going out of the clinic with bare teeth. He didn’t really do anything with my jaw.

My dentist had a different opinion. She wanted to splint my jaw so she can fix the clicking but what we’re really doing is illegal because it’s not actually a dentist’s job to deal with braces and jaw problems but she’s studying to be an orthodontist so for me she’s qualified enough. And also, she’s doing a better job than my actual orthodontist.

I’ve been always obsessed with my teeth’s aesthetics because I always wanted that perfect smile. A “killer smile” a layman might say. I’ll probably have my braces reattached depending on my dentist’s advice.

It’s been four years since I had bare teeth. Pretty long for the average one year. I might post some photos of my before and after. Maybe when I’m settled on a definite place.

Talk about vanity.
